About the Weekend

This adult faith formation weekend seeks to provide you with many tools for life, most especially a way to pray contemplatively. St. Teresa of Avila described contemplative prayer as follows: “Contemplative Prayer in my opinion is nothing else than a close sharing between friends; it means taking time frequently to be alone with him who we know loves us” (CCC 2709), St. Teresa of Avila.
This AdultFaith Formation weekend will be led by Anne, a lay apostle, Fr. Darragh Connolly, and Margaret McGahon, MS, MIAHIP.

The venue for this weekend: Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cavan, Co. Cavan.
The curriculum for the weekend content includes: challenging our negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs, self-awareness, neuroplasticity, boundaries, resilience, the love of God, teachings from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, contemplative prayer and more. The talks include group discussion and interaction.  The curriculum will have a strong emphasis on human formation necessary to live out our vocations.
In this time, where most of us suffer from some level of mind pollution, meaning, unruly and impulsive thoughts, deeds and negative patterns,…We are going to have to work hard to become thoughtful men and women of God. And then we will have to use discipline to remain thoughtful men and women of God.” – Anne, a lay apostle, Sept 2013
